Keynote Speaker: Tommy Lasorda
Each year, the Murphy Enterprise Center strives to invite a keynote speaker that will inspire and challenge the attendees to greater heights in the field of entrepreneurship and business. This year's keynote speaker proved to be just such a person.
It was a homerun! On November 4, when the Jerry Durant's Family of Dealerships and the Murphy Enterprise Center welcomed keynote speaker for the 2005 Leadership Luncheon, Tommy Lasorda, all the guests were entertained in a very unique fashion.
Regarded by many as baseball's most popular ambassador, Tommy Lasorda is in his 56th season with the Dodgers and proudly serves as Special Advisor to the Chairman. Lasorda compiled a 1,599-1,439 record and won two World Championships, four National League pennants and eight division titles in an extraordinary 20-year career as the Los Angeles Dodgers' manager.
Murphy Award Winner: H. Ross Perot
The Murphy Award is presented annually to an outstanding entrepreneur for a lifetime of achievement in business. Winners are evaluated on business growth, entrepreneurial spirit, integrity, leadership, and contributions to business and community.
H. Ross Perot was honored at the 2005 Leadership Luncheon held on Friday, November 4th. As the Murphy Award winner for a lifetime of achievement, Ross Perot joins previous winners, Bill Winspear, Sam Wyly and Ebby Halliday.
